Howard Supply Company offers Proof Testing of Chain and Wire Rope Slings on our portable testing machine that is based out of Wyoming stores.  Our portable machines offer the convenience of traveling to your job site to minimize down time. 

Our newest machine has 300,000 pound maximum capacity with a testing length of approximately 30 feet.  We also have the capability of testing dead end wire rope sockets up to 1 ½” diameter with our wire ripe grip system.  

All slings are visually inspected for damage and wear. A written record of the inspection is provided for your annual and periodic inspections that are required per ASME B30.9 regulations.  A Certificate of Test is also provided for your documentation.

Proof Testing of Slings is a nondestructive load test made to a specific multiple of the rated load of the sling.

Our Overhead Lifting and Safety Training Class

Jim Kirby has been training our customers in the proper use and methods of overhead lifting since 1996. He has the proven knowledge and techniques to inspect nylon, chain, and wire rope slings. He has many years of experience fabricating slings.

Should you have a need for Jim to conduct one of his training sessions for you, be sure to have him bring our Portable Pull Test Machine to inspect and pull test your existing slings - On-Site!
